Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 24, 2026 | Last Updated: May 24, 2026
1. Introduction
BrokerStop, Inc. ("BrokerStop," "we," "our," or "us") operates brokerstop.io (the "Service"), a consumer privacy service through which we act as your authorized agent to submit opt-out, deletion, and do-not-contact requests to third-party data brokers, people-search sites, and sales-outreach companies.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect about you, how we use and disclose it, the rights you have with respect to that information, and how to exercise them. By creating an account, executing the Authorized Agent Designation, or otherwise using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy.
For purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the "CCPA"), and analogous state privacy laws, BrokerStop is a "business" with respect to personal information collected from you in connection with the Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the categories of personal information described below directly from you, automatically through your use of the Service, and from third parties acting on your behalf (such as our payment processor).
Identifiers and contact information. Your first and last name, email address, primary and (if you provide one) secondary telephone number, postal or employer mailing address as reflected on your profile, employer name, job title, and LinkedIn profile URL.
Authorization records. The signature image you draw when executing the Authorized Agent Designation, the date and time of execution, the Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you executed the document, and the cryptographic hash and stored copy of the resulting authorization PDF.
Commercial information. Records of your subscription plan, billing status, transaction history, and any cancellation or refund activity. Payment card details and bank account information are collected and processed directly by our payment processor; we do not receive or store full payment card numbers, CVV codes, or bank credentials.
Service activity. Records of removal requests we have submitted on your behalf, the broker recipients of those requests, status and reply metadata, custom removal submissions you initiate, your interactions with our dashboards, and account events such as sign-in, password reset, and account closure.
Communications. The content of email, in-app, or other correspondence between you and BrokerStop, and replies received from data brokers or third-party recipients in response to requests sent on your behalf.
Technical and log data. IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, referring URL, pages requested, and timestamps, collected automatically for security, fraud prevention, and reliability purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process personal information only for the following business purposes:
Performing the Service. Preparing, signing, and submitting opt-out, deletion, cease-and-desist, and do-not-contact requests to data brokers, people-search operators, and sales-outreach companies; resubmitting requests when records are re-listed; transmitting your Authorized Agent Designation as evidence of our authority to act on your behalf; and receiving and tracking responses to those requests.
Account administration. Authenticating you, maintaining your account, processing subscription payments and renewals, handling cancellations, and responding to support inquiries.
Service communications. Sending you transactional messages about your account, removal status, billing, security, and material changes to the Service or this Policy.
Compliance and protection. Detecting, investigating, and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents; enforcing our Terms of Service; and complying with applicable law, legal process, and regulatory obligations.
Service improvement. Monitoring system performance, diagnosing errors, and improving the reliability and quality of the Service, in each case using the minimum data necessary and, where feasible, de-identified or aggregated information.
We do not use your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, do not engage in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you, and do not use your information for purposes materially different from those described above without first providing notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.
4. How We Disclose Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We disclose personal information only as follows:
To data brokers and other recipients of removal requests. To perform the Service, we transmit your identifying information (such as name, email, phone number, and employer) and the Authorized Agent Designation to the data brokers, people-search operators, and outreach companies whose records you have asked us to address. Disclosure of this information to those recipients is intrinsic to the deletion or opt-out request itself.
To service providers and processors. We engage vendors to perform functions on our behalf under written contracts that restrict their use of personal information to providing services to us. These include a payment processor (for subscription billing and card processing), a transactional email provider (for outbound and inbound email associated with removal requests), and cloud infrastructure providers (for hosting, storage, and database services). These vendors are contractually prohibited from using your information for their own purposes.
For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose personal information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process; necessary to enforce our Terms of Service; or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BrokerStop, our customers, or others.
In connection with a corporate transaction. If BrokerStop is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Policy or substantially similar protections in the successor entity's privacy policy.
With your consent or at your direction. We may otherwise disclose personal information when you direct us to do so or have provided consent.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specifically:
Account and profile data is retained for the duration of your active subscription and for a reasonable wind-down period thereafter.
Authorization records (including the signature image, IP address of execution, and authorization PDF) are retained for the duration of your subscription and for a limited period thereafter sufficient to evidence our authority to have acted on your behalf in the event of a dispute.
Removal-request records and broker reply metadata are retained while the related subscription is active and, in aggregated or de-identified form, may be retained longer for service-integrity and reporting purposes.
Billing and tax records are retained as required by applicable financial and tax law.
Upon account closure, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account within thirty (30) days, except to the extent retention is required by law, necessary to complete pending transactions, or maintained in routine backup systems that are overwritten on a defined cycle.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to personal information we hold about you:
The right to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources of that information, the purposes for which we use it, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
The right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain statutory exceptions.
The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (BrokerStop does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under applicable law).
The right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (BrokerStop does not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right).
The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@brokerstop.io from the address associated with your account or submit a request through your account settings. We will acknowledge receipt within ten (10) business days and respond substantively within forty-five (45) days, subject to a permitted extension of up to an additional forty-five (45) days where reasonably necessary. Before fulfilling a request, we will take commercially reasonable steps to verify your identity, which may include matching information you provide against information already in our records.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of your written authorization and may require you to verify your identity directly with us. If you are unable to access your account or believe we have not properly responded to your request, you may appeal by emailing privacy@brokerstop.io with the subject line "Privacy Rights Appeal."
7. Our Role as Your Authorized Agent
When you execute the Authorized Agent Designation, you appoint BrokerStop as your authorized agent for the limited purpose of submitting opt-out, deletion, do-not-contact, and similar privacy requests to third-party data brokers, people-search operators, and outreach companies. We act only within the scope of that designation and do not exercise privacy rights on your behalf with respect to entities you have not asked us to address. You may revoke the designation at any time by closing your account or by emailing privacy@brokerstop.io.
8. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption of data in transit using industry-standard transport security, encryption of authorization records and other sensitive files at rest, access controls limiting personal information to authorized personnel with a legitimate need to know, time-limited access tokens for retrieving stored documents, and redaction of personally identifying values from application logs.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is one hundred percent secure. While we work to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. International Users
The Service is operated from, and personal information collected through the Service is processed in, the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country of residence.
10. Children
The Service is intended for adult business professionals. We do not direct the Service to, and do not knowingly collect personal information from, individuals under eighteen (18) years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under eighteen, we will delete that information promptly. A parent or guardian who believes that a minor has provided personal information to us may contact privacy@brokerstop.io.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Service, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email to the address associated with your account at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect, and we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of that Policy.
